Lc. Stonehouse 'Duke of Bridgewater'

A famous hybrid made up of 25% Cattleya mossiae, 25% Laelia purpurata and 50% Cattleya trianaei. Very robust with huge flowers colored in white with a scarlet lip and yellow eyes in the lip. This plant dates back to 1916 and was registered by H. Worsley. We think that the Duke of Bridgewater's estate called Worsley Hall might be the origin, as there were extensive greenhouses there during this time. The flowers have a nice fragrance and are 7 inches plus in size. We have grown this plant quite large and have divided it. These are established divisions and are large plants. This is a very old plant and may be from the original cross. We have given it the name 'Duke of Bridgewater' as it came to us with no clonal name. Tested virus free.
