Description
This primary intergeneric Southeast Asian jewel orchid hybrid combines the beauty of jewel orchids with the ease of growth from its Ludisia discolor parent, making it faster-growing and more forgiving than many other jewel orchid types.

These plants are popular as terrarium ground cover, spreading outward via thick rhizomes. They prefer clean, low- to zero-mineral water with occasional fertilizer, consistently moist conditions, and very low light—perfect for shady spots or even a north-facing window.

When jewel orchids flower, the blooming growth will slowly terminate, but new shoots emerge to replace it. If a piece breaks off, allow it to callus for 1–2 days, then replant in sphagnum or peat moss to re-root.

As of 8/6, current plants are budding or just beginning to flower. The root system photo shows multiple underground rhizomes with fresh growth tips. Once these reach the surface, they will produce new leaves. We’ve potted them in wide, shallow containers to encourage quicker emergence. Pictured is an average plant; leaf size and count may vary, but all have multiple new rhizomes forming in the moss.
