A floriferous species found throughout parts of Central and South America, this plant is well known for its large foliage, which inspired the name macrophylla, meaning "large-leaved." Under proper conditions, it can bloom continuously for up to five months, producing an impressive display throughout summer and fall.
Current plants are recent divisions that should now be pushing out new roots as the newest growths continue to emerge and develop.
