Masdevallia tovarensis

A rather uncommon species from the region near Tovar in Venezuela. A successive bloomer that can produce 3 to 4 flowers from each spike. Do not cut the flower spike until it starts to turn yellow. We grow this species in sphagnum moss to keep consistent moisture. This species can tolerate warmer conditions during the summer months. Plants typically begin flowering from late December.
