Oncostele Hilo Firecracker 'New Year'

*Note: As of 11/4, these flowers are nearly all open, and fresh enough to last through November.

This impressive hybrid blooms with tall branching spikes that erupt in a flurry of red flowers accented by a cream-yellow margin in the lip. The spikes are tall when mature and should reach about 3 feet before the flower buds open.

This batch is set to flower in mid-November. Most have one spike, but can also develop a second spike at the base of the pseudobulb. Some are already showing a 2nd spike!
