Description
Kiwi Orchid Bark is Pinus radiata pine bark, which is known to break down slowly and can last more than 2 years in a container, in many instances over 5 years depending on environmental conditions. Unlike Orchiata pine bark, this bark is not pre-treated (Orchiata is slighly pre-composted to retain moisture better), therefore we recommend this bark mostly for epiphytic orchids such as Cattleya, or very large potted orchids in 8" containers or larger to help avoid excessive moisture.
Current availability is the Grade: No. 4, which is medium/large and equivalent to the Orchiata Power Plus size of 1/2" to 3/4" bark chips.
You can use this straight, or you can mix in perlite and charcoal etc to adjust to your liking.
