Paph. appletonianum

A fascinating species native to China, southern Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. It is distinguished by its slender, pointed, mottled foliage and tall stems carrying delicate, uniquely shaped flowers. These plants appreciate good airflow and consistent root moisture—adding perlite to the potting mix is a great way to achieve this, while sphagnum moss in well-drained pots also works well. Avoid letting them dry out completely between waterings. Once mature, specimen-sized plants can carry many growths and flowers at once, creating a stunning display that resembles a flock of birds in flight!
