Paph. delenatii (1/2 vinicolor x vinicolor)

This is an interesting cross between a 1/2 vinicolor delenatii and a full vinicolor delenatii. There are two types of foliage showing. Some are darker than standard delenatii and some have the dark red ring around the surface of the leaves just as pure vinicolors do. 1/2 vinicolor crosses are not truly recessive as they also have darker foliage and flowers that are also darker than the standard form. It is most likely that some of the darker plants will pick up larger flower sizes with darker pouches. The 'Dark Time' parent was a clone made with the massive flowers of the award quality 'My Time' clone crossed with a very good dark dunkel form.

The flower pictured is a true vinicolor, and we expect the dark ring plants to look like this. The standard leaf types should also have flowers that are darker than normal delenatii. We have not seen the results of this cross yet. The vinicolor form is also far more fragrant that the standard form and we expect that the fragrance of roses will be much greater when these plants start flowering.
