We are excited to offer this impressive batch, the lineage of which dates back to the Orchid Zone days with Nick Tanacci, Orchid Inn with Sam Tsui, and now us! Native to Thailand and Malaysia, this rare diminutive species is in the genetic background of all modern complex white Paph. hybrids. This orchid is more tolerant of salts and minerals than most other Paphiopedilum, due to the fact that it grows on seaside limestone cliffs in the wild. When in bloom, the 3" (7.5 cm) wide flowers are large relative to the size of the foliage on this species. The flowers, which last about 6 weeks, can vary in their degree of spotting and emerge from mature new growths.
