Paph. primulinum flavum (3N)

Paph. primulinum flavum 'Kings Crown' is a tetraploid (4N) clone with bigger flowers, and more intense yellow flowers than the regular 2N Paph. primulinum's. Another advantage is that the flowers are thicker and longer-lasting compared to a diploid. We crossed this tetraploid plant to one of our select (2N) Paph primulinum's. The result should be a more vigorous plant than a tetraploid, but with larger and darker colored flowers compared to a regular diploid primulinum. The seedlings have only been a year out of the flask, and have already shown to be very vigorous. The picture shows the first 3N seedling that bloomed out of this cross. The flowers are 7.5 cm wide and tall. Awesome plant!
