Description
A sibling cross of this now hard-to-find species from Thailand. We originally imported these in the late 1970s from the renowned Bangkrabue Nursery, which held a royal warrant and served as a collector for the King of Thailand. The nursery’s owner, Mr. Prasong Sukhakul, discovered this species—initially believing it to be Paph. callosum until it flowered. It was later formally described by German botanists Schoser and Senghas in 1965.
We especially value this species for its elegant flower stance and beautifully flat petals. Flowers are typically 5–6 inches across on 8–10 inch stems.
