Description
This is the dak red flower form of the Polychilos section of Phalaenopsis, from Vietnam, Nicobar Islands, Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Sumatra, and the Philippines. This Phalaenopsis reflowers from the same spikes year after year, so you do not need to remove them once they flower, unless the plant is small or under stress. They are also fragrant. In time they can grow to about a foot across and have several flower spikes in blom at once.
This is a shade-loving, warm to hot-growing species found at lower to mid-elevations, ranging from 200 -1000 meters.
