A warm-growing Section Polychilos species, native to Sumatra, where it grows on trees in shaded, moist areas of lowland tropical forests. This species is known for its colorful flowers and sweet fragrance. This variety has the indigo/fuchsia tones, and is a sib crossbred by Mike Mims.
Do not cut the flower spikes so long as they are green, as they will go dormant for the winter and resume blooming the following summer.
These bloom on relatively small plants, and this batch has reached blooming size.
