First release of this rare species grown from seed. Not available for export at this time. This plant was originally imported from Brazil in the early 1970's both to the USA and Germany. It is probably an intergrade between sargentianum and some other longifolium like species. We found a description in a French book Les Orchidees of this species coming from Roraima, an area still greatly unexplored in Brazil. The plants we offer have been grown from seed and are flowering size.
These plants also can flower for several months, sometimes 1+ years on the same inflorescence.
One theory that could support this being its own actual species is that there is an interesting example of Phrag. Stariway to Heaven (wallisii x popowii), which the hybrid looks identical to the species Phrag. caudatum.
