Description
This is a Nishiki Bachi 錦鉢 (also referred to as Raku Hachi 楽鉢) from the Aichi prefecture in Japan. Aichi produces the most Neofinetia pots in Japan, and offers the most variety of artwork. These are high-detail pots that are entirely covered in different patterns, therefore taking more time for the artists who hand paint them. These pots are made out of very porous clay and breath well with a large drain hole opening on the bottom of the pot.
The pots pictured are the actual pots for sale. Since each pot is hand made, the size of the pot and artwork is slightly variable from pot to pot.
Nishiki Bachi means raised paint on a pot. Raku Hachi means fun/enjoyable pots.
Pot A - Has a 3 1/8 inch inside diameter. Has an arabesque floral pattern, heavily spotted with gold accents above each leg.
Pot B - Has a 2.75 inch inside diameter. Has red peony flowers surrounded by floral motif.
