Description
This is the most economical way to ship and purchase New Zealand sphagnum moss. This moss is 'super' compressed, meaning it is compressed down to 5x its normal package size. To decompress, just add water and wait!
The blended grade can run from shorter 3" strands to the occasional 8"+ strand. We have even used this moss to make small Neofinetia moss mounds in the K20 to K25 pots! This moss is also thinner than standard AAA moss, which makes it easy to sculpt for small plants. For larger plants, of course, this is the best-priced NZ moss in the market. There will be some sticks and leaves in the moss on occasion, which you can discard of. It should be no harm to use them either.
We recommend a lower volume of water and giving it several hours (to overnight) for it to naturally decompress. For fast decompression, you will need a higher volume of water constantly until it unravels. This will leave you with a very water-dense moss that needs to be rung out like a sponge before use and for storage. Be sure to allow the moss to dry 100% before sealing excess moss into a bag or box.
