Neofinetia

A popular miniature Vandaceous orchid native to Japan, China and Korea. Its long history of cultivation and bonsai-like presentation make this species very unique in the orchid world. In Japan, Neofinetia falcata are grown with reverence and dedication, and the numerous forms of the species are often named, and achieve notoriety for their novelty. Neofinetia bloom in summer with flowers that are fragrant by day, that rise to a crescendo of strength at night with a scent reminiscent of Jasmine. Neofinetia falcata are often displayed in decorative containers and mounded in sphagnum moss. Hundreds of varieties of Neofinetia falcata exist, and the characteristics that distinguish each varies from the shape or color of the leaves or flowers, to the style of variegation their leaves bear, or even the color of the root tips! The endless variety makes them a pleasure to behold, and very collectible!

We now offer our Neofinetia in our alternative bark mixture, with the option to upgrade to the traditional moss mound. This helps us with our water and repotting maintenance schedule as the bark mix lasts longer and the labor involved in the moss mound is high.
