This is a remake of a primary hybrid made in 1899 by Veitch nursery. We used really large, well shaped parents to make this cross and they are quite fragrant. We expect some very fine coeruleas with flowers 6" to 7" wide. These may even flower twice per year as C. trianaei flowers in winter and C. lueddemaniana flowers in spring to early summer. The first photo is of the select C. lueddemaniana, the second photo is of a C. trianaei coerulea that is very similar to the Michael clone. As Cattleya are slow growing, these will be flowering size around 2025 to 2026. We have been growing these plants from seed since 2014.
