Description
Truly a "one in a million" chance at finding a Catt. bowringiana semi-alba in nature! This species is native to Belize and Guatemala where it grows in lowland, hot to warm areas. These plants have an interesting bloom habit: the flowers open initially with a bit of coerulea color that transitions to white with a magenta lip after a few days. In very bright light there can be a purple blush in the flowers. We have found these orchids to be vigorous, easy growers that produce sturdy tall, bifoliate leaves on top of upright sturdy pseudobulbs. When these plants reach full maturity they can have between 25 to 50 flowers on a spike! All of the plants we offer are flowering size. Please Note: when listed as being in sheath - in spike this means that they typically flower in September to October. Shipping these in sheath is far safer than shipping them with buds.
