Description
This is an unusual color form for the species considered a coerulea (blue), but in truth they are a light pastel pink-petaled flower with a dark fuchsia inner lip. The 3-4 inch flowers have a lovely fragrance of raspberries and cream.
This is a form of Dendrobium that loses its leaves in winter and flowers out all along the cane. To grow these correctly, water and feed well when actively developing new growth. Stop feeding from late November until the plant has finished flowering and is developing new growths. Watering frequency can be reduced without using fertilizer, and make sure the medium never stays moist for long periods of time. Usually occasional misting is enough. Once the buds start appearing water as the potting mix approaches dryness.
These plants put on an amazing display of flowers as they become specimen plants. Currently being grown in 3.25" pots using supports to hold up the growths. They also do well in baskets, letting the foliage hang over the side pendulously, or mounted on slabs.
