Description
The wild-type form of this species, native to the Philippines, typically blooms with small, star-shaped flowers. However, through multiple generations of select breeding, we have developed a large-flowered form that we refer to as "Fischers Strain". This orchid produces beautiful canes up to 3 feet tall, which can be staked up if potted or hang like a living waterfall if mounted on a cork slab. Despite having very thick roots, this slender-leaved orchid is sensitive to drying out and should be watered as soon as the potting media becomes lightly damp to the touch. This orchid is naturally deciduous and will drop leaves off of the oldest growths, which are quickly replaced by the emergence of new growths. We have been carefully cultivating these plants since 2017 from seed.
