Description
A recent discovery made in 2009 on Mount Victoria, Palawan, in the Philippines. This giant pitcher plant has pitchers that exceed Nepenthes rajah in size and there are reports of pitchers being able to hold 1.5 to 2 litres of liquid! In nature the pitchers are open and easily fill with rainwater. The rainwater and insectdissolving enzymes separate however, with the enzymes at the bottom of the pitcher and the rainwater in the upper regions of the pitcher. This species was named for Sir David Attenborough - the naturalist and explorer of BBC fame. Grow in intermediate to warm temperatures. Pot in New Zealand sphagnum moss and either just foliar feed or feed the roots with a mild orchid fertilizer like Green Jungle orchid food once per month.
Please note these are seedlings and quite small (as in second picture). This is the first time they have been available and we only have seedlings at the moment.
