Description
A lovely Central/South American novelty hybrid of an orchid that produces cascading, colorful, and fragrant flowers. Unlike most orchids which have asexual flowers, this genus will produce one or the other. Male flowers are smaller with higher flower count, whereas female flowers are larger with an average of one to three flowers emerging on a spike (sometimes more when the plants are specimen size. Higher light tends to produce female flowers, but sometimes the same conditions can produce either sex flower.
These plants have a dormant season in the winter. They are dormant for a short period of time, after when a new growth will emerge from the base of the cane. Often when we ship them at this stage, the small new growth has already begun to emerge.
