Description
This interesting hybrid can flower twice per year but have the most flowers in the fall/winter. It usually starts flowering in late November to late December and flowers for 2-3 months. These have several deep carmine red to rose-colored flowers on spikes that are 18 inches to 2 feet high.
Easy to grow and flower, requiring medium light. Water as the potting mix approaches dryness. We pot these in a coco peat mix and as the mix dries out it turns a light tan in color that is the signal to water. These do very well as windowsill plants. The flower spikes emerge at the base of the pseudobulbs and first appear as a whitish callus on the side of the bulb and then later pointy spikes begin to emerge. The 3 inch-flowers are long-lasting and there can be 10-30 flowers per spike when the plants are mature.
