These have reddish purple flowers that are 2.5 to 3" in size with a lip that will have faint white markings on the tip. The flower spike produce several flowers that last for 2-3 months. Grow in medium light and intermediate to warm temperatures. Water as the potting mix approaches dryness. It is normal for this plant to lose leaves during or just after flowering. Often time this occurs as new growths emerge at the base of the plant with new leaves.
