Beautiful yellow green flowers with a white lip that has a dark-green base. Native to Venezuela, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador, these plants will drop most or all of their leaves at maturity right before or when they flower. The wonderful fragrance is like a banana popsicle. Typically this plant flowers in late fall to early winter but can surprise you with a random spike at other times as well. We have seen10-15 flowersper spike with these plants and this particular cross is really good with superb parents used. Grow in cool to warm conditions (cooler and drier in winter and moist and warm in summer). The new growths emerge sometime after flowering and once the plant has flowered keep the potting mix dry and only water if there is shriveling of the pseudobulbs. Once the new growths start to put out roots, water when the mix approaches dryness and fertilize regularly to get the largest pseudobulbs possible. Once the bulbs have matured and the leaf tips turn yellow, the flower spikes will emerge from the sides of the pseudoblubs. *Please note in the fall/winter months these plants have no foliage due to dormancy.
