These are beautiful multi-growth plants that produce stunning deep pink coral flowers. These bloom in the summer to early fall and like growing in a moist mix. These are planted in New Zealand tree fern. During the growth and flowering period, water as they approach dryness. After flowering in the fall or winter, the leaves will start dying back; water only every 2-3 weeks. Some people elevate the pot above a tray of water when dormant and barely water during the winter months. There are pretty large tubers in the pot and each year more tubers are usually added. Eventually, they can be carefully pulled apart to make more plants or left all together to make a specimen plant. When growth emerges, resume normal watering and fertilizing.
