Description
A Southeast Asian terrestrial jewel orchid native to China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines. Once mature, the growths will host spikes with white flowers and a yellow column. This is a darker leave type deemed as 'black leaf type'. In this group, there can be slightly different tones of color. Ours are all from the same mother plant, so what you see represented in the picture is what you will receive. After blooming, the leaves will die off and new growths will emerge from the base. In addition, as the foliage ages, prior to shedding it will turn an orange/red color as in the photo.
Grow in moist retentive potting media like sphagnum moss or peat moss mixes. Shallow pots or good drainage are best.
