This particular cross is producing thick leaves and are slower growing than regular bellina but should produce thick and large flowers. The first photo is of the 'Ponkan' clone the second photo is of the 'Round Star' clone. This cross also has randomly produced the first and only known 'Rubra', or solid red form. From this cross we have only seen four plants blossom so far and the first one was the pure red one. The other 3 have been highly colored but don't exhibit the foliage charachteristics as the rest of the plants which exhibit the same ploidy characteristics in the foliage with very thick leaves and deep longitudinal lines. Limited plants available. We are uncertain of the chromosome count but they have the appearance of tetraploid plants in the foliage.
