Description
We are offering seedlings from two of our very best parent plants. This batch is expected to reach blooming size in 2027–2028.
Often referred to as the “king of Phalaenopsis,” this remarkable species boasts the largest foliage of all Phalaenopsis. Native to Borneo, it produces long-lasting, waxy flowers that emit a distinctive fragrance often described as burnt matchsticks when in bloom.
Once they bloom, the flower spike removal is generally unnecessary, as the spikes are capable of regenerating buds season after season. We only recommend removing spikes if the plant is weak and needs to redirect energy toward vegetative growth, as maintaining spikes consumes a lot of energy.
This species is commonly grown in plastic pots with New Zealand sphagnum moss or mounted pendulously in side-hanging wooden baskets.
