Coconut husk is an alternative potting material which has good water retention properties along with good air flow. We recommend soaking in water for a few hours before use. Some triple wash for more salt sensitive plants. From our own experience, Dendrobium and Cymbidium orchids do well in this product and do not require any extra washing of the product.
