New Zealand Orchiata Bark is setting a new standard for growing orchids! This bark is wind rowed with limestone added. Using a process of heat and water, the chaff and dust is removed leaving only clean, nitrified bark. This bark breaks down slowly, on the order of 3 years before needing to be replaced. With more aeration, using clay pots or perlite, it can last even longer! You'll be able to repot your root bound orchids by simply shifting them a larger pot several times before this bark reaches the end of its life.

We offer three sizes of Orchiata Bark:

Precision (fine) – 1/8" to 1/4"

Power (medium) - 3/8" to 1/2"

Power Plus (coarse) - 1/2" to 3/4"

Super (extra course) - 3/4" to 1"

Precision is for Phragmipedium, Miltoniopsis and Oncidiinae seedlings up to 4" pots. Power is for Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum and Cattleya seedlings up to 4" pots. Power Plus is for Phalaenopsis, Cattleya or Vanda orchids in 5" up to 7" pots. Super is used for extra large pots of Vanda or Cattleya.
