A beautiful species native toBorneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi and pennisular Malaysia, this species has gone through a variety of names and a lot of confusion. Many lump these all in the name of bullenianum but we grew bullenianum many years ago when they were fresh imports and the true bullenianum has purple on the undersides of the leaves. The foliage is beautiful and the tall graceful flower spikes are erect and bear a singular 3-4 inch flower colored with deep pink petals and green, tan and mahogany segments. Easy to grow and reliable in flowering, this smallish plant is a delight to look at even when it is not in flower. The flowers last about 2 months.
