One of the most popular Paphiopedilum from Southeast Asia. Found at low elevation in Thailand, Paph. godefroyae likes to grow warm. Some of the best growers claim these grow best if the night temperature does not go below 70 degrees, however we have grown them for years with nights dropping to the mid 60's during cooler weather. Low to medium light levels work well, and potting them in a bark mixture that drains well is important. These typically bloom in the spring to summer months.
These are have been bred utilizing special very select parents and the flowers are superb!
This individual plant was still opening its flower when photographed, but the natural spread at that time was 5.5cm. Since this is a first bloom, this plant has the potential to gain an additional 1-2cm in size on the second or third growth flowerings.
The exact plant pictured above is the individual you will receive with your order. First bloom was 6/1/17.
