Description
Often seen as light green and pink, our lentiginosa are red! This is a cool to cold growing miniature epiphyte found at high elevations (2700 to 2900 meters) in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The 5" multifloral inflorescence bears numerous crystalline red flowers. These little plants are packed with leaves. The flower spikes bloom for several months and this plant can flower off and on throughout the year. We have found that growing these in our greenhouse in Minnesota they are tolerant of heat and cold. In winter they do well with temps in the high 50’s to low 60’s F. with days in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. They seem to be pretty heat tolerant too as our summers can get quite warm and humid.
